Week and weekend of November 12th - 18th

What do you know, we're behind on posting again and getting friendly nudges for updates. Going back a little to the week before Thanksgiving. Ellen and Sarah came over here for lunch and brought Schatzie and I thought these photos of Sarah kissing Indigo and of Indigo with Schatzie were really cute. On the Friday of that week we took Indigo to temple for Tot Shabbat. She seemed to really enjoy all the singing. This service is geared towards young kids so it's earlier and short. Indigo particularly enjoyed the cookies and juice served afterwards. Our friend Miriam was very sweet and made Indigo this lovely frame which she brought to the service. On Saturday we spent most of the day at home cleaning house getting ready for all the Thanksgiving company. On Saturday night friends in the neighborhood invited us over for an open house to view Bobbi's paintings. Bobbi is an artist in our neighborhood and we got to know her and her husband when I had her do a painting of the lake for David one year. Indigo had a really fun time there and enjoyed their dog Phoebe very much. On Sunday we had a really fun day when Eugene and Julie came over for breakfast and then joined us at the dog park. Eugene and Julie are also neighbors and we got to know them because we had learned through the neighborhood grapevine that they were adopting from China. They are very much hoping to get their referral in January and so we're crossing our fingers. They loved seeing and playing with Indigo and we all enjoyed the dog park together. On Sunday evening we had our very dear friends Marty and Laurie over for dinner with their boys Connor and Aidan and their new lab puppy Cody. It was a lovely evening together and Indigo enjoyed having Connor read to her. We met Marty and Laurie more than 14 years ago when we had our first Irish Murphy as a puppy and they had a black Lab Molson and we got the dogs together every day to play - the first children. Their dog Barley was Caleb's brother from when we added second dogs to the family. It was funny because Indigo got some ice cream dessert on her bottom and the puppy kept licking her bottom. It was fun to have the puppy over but boy we kept talking about how much work it is to have a puppy again when we're all used the senior citizen dog.
