Crocus - proof of Spring! So we came into March with me in a sling 24/7 and still in a lot of pain. Mom was here helping to take care of Indigo while David was working and also helping us by helping with laundry, cooking, groceries etc. all the things that it usually takes the two of us to get done. It was so hard not being able to pick Indigo up and having to tell her to be careful when sitting on my lap - I was icing my shoulder all the time and she would say "cooooold ice" it was very cute. David had to do all her baths because I just did not think it safe to try bathing her one armed and I could not change her at all (diapers or clothes). We were so happy that Spring was finally here so that we could spend lots of time outside between the cold of winter and before the heat of summer. I was still in a lot of pain and really not able to fend for myself but it was good to be outside.
During this time of getting better, we were so glad to have Ellen coming weekly with Sarah to play with us, and it was the start of having many wonderful weekly picnics. While it was still difficult for me to travel and go places, we stayed close to home and our first picnic was just at the little garden at the end of our road. Indigo and Sarah loved seeing the geese! On the weekend, David, Indigo and I went with Granny to the zoo. It was a cold day but we spent a long time in Amazonia which is really hot and Indigo was just completely enthralled by the turtles she saw.
