Flights are booked, bags are not packed...

We have booked our flights and received our tickets yesterday! To update everyone who had seen our last post - our agency did not get the consulate appointment dates they had requested and received our consulate appointment (this is the American consulate in Guangzhou, China) for July 9th. Therefore, our travel was moved back a bit. Our tickets are booked for June 20th. We fly from Dulles to Beijing direct flight. We'll do some pretouring around Chengdu and Guilin and then fly back to Beijing to meet up with a bunch of our friends from our 10/28 LID group in Beijing on June 26th. We spend some time in Beijing and then travel with our agency to the province of Jiangxi. We believe that will be July 1st. We do not know yet if we get her on July 1 or July 2 - guess which one we are hoping for... We are in the province with her for five days as required for the adoption and then we all travel to Guangzhou where we have our American consulate appointment. After that we'll go to Hong Kong and then fly home on July 13th. Hopefully we'll be posting some progress on the packing soon, at least we're getting the lists together...
In the meantime, I am also adding a photo of the second item that I knitted for Indigo.

Isn't it exciting to finally have something tangible to prove we are really headed to China. I hope you have a fabulous trip traveling around China before we all meet up in Beijing. Hard to believe you will be off in ten days. It won't be long till you have Indigo in your arms!!Perhaps three weeks from today!
The sweater is just beautiful!!

Melanie,
The sweater is just beautiful! You can no longer call yourself a "beginner" knitter - that's an advanced project there! I'm sure Indigo is going to be just beautiful in it! Hope all goes well with the packing!

How exciting!!! You'll be leaving in less than 10 days!! I hope you get to take Indigo home on July 1--that would be a great way to celebrate my birthday! :)

The baby shower looked like it was so much fun--I wish I'd been there--but I am sure it was very emotional too. The presents were beautiful, and I really liked the sweater you made for Indigo, it is truly special.

We are so looking forward to seeing you and meeting Indigo in DC! Enjoy your trip and we'll see you soon!!!
